“GAME DAY” Plano vs Trinity

Posted by admin on December 13th, 2007

Saturday night will be a battle of two 13-1 teams as the Plano Wildcats take on the Euless Trinity Trojans for the right to move on to the State Championship game in San Antonio December 22nd.

Texas Stadium will be the site for matchup, kickoff is set for 7:00.

Both teams bring in impressive winning streaks, Plano a 10 game streak while Trinity has won 12 in a row.

Dallas Morning New’s Todd Wills offers up his “Pre-game Austin Avenue Report”.

Some say Trinity, some say Plano, who has the edge?

Plano Star’s Cory Mageors takes a look at Plano’s “Knuck if you Buck” secondary.

You can see the path both teams have taken through the playoff’s HERE.

Trinity’s four playoff wins; last Saturday’s 21-14 against Arlington Bowie, a 38-14 win over Odessa Permian, 42-17 over Lewisville, and an opening day 31-0 win over Arlington Martin.

Their regular season nine wins started with a 21-10 win over Tyler Lee, 27-7 over Waco, 34-10 over South Grand Prairie, 38-0 over Irving Nimitz, 24-0 over Jesuit, 48-10 over Irving MacArthur, 31-0 over Grand Prairie, 43-7 over Irving and a 44-0 over Hurst Bell.

Trinity’s only loss came in week two with a 30-3 loss to Odessa Permian.

Here’s a look inside district 7-5A and how they fared this year.

It’s “#9 nationally against #4 in the Southwest” in the PrepNation Poll this week.

Both teams rank high in key team statistics on “points per game”, “points allowed per game” and “average margin of victory”.

A closer look at the head to head matchup HERE.

Looks like Plano will face the area’s #1 rated defense for the second week in a row.

The Massey Ratings have #5 Plano against #1 Trinity and make Trinity the strong favorite.

The Dallas Morning New’s Todd Wills catches up with QB Carson Meger and Keith Whitmire sits down with RB Rex Burkhead.

DMN’s Keith Whitmire takes a look at Trinities run oriented offense. Matt Wixon and Bobbi Roquemore’s video preview of the game is here, and thankfully Bobbi picks against Plano……..again, but clearly Matt knows his stuff.

Can’t say the same for T-Mac as he goes with Trinity. Keith Whitmire can’t decide who to go with, so he defers to the fans and like the rest of the staff leans towards Plano.

Not to worry, Texas Prep Insider’s Matt Diggs sees it Plano all the way.

2006 QB Club Captain Carlos Cuevas sees Plano by 17.

Channel 8 takes a look at Plano HERE.

Chevrolet’s Prep Ticket “goes inside” and takes a look at the Plano-Trinity matchup.

Texas Football likes Plano in a close one and the Wildcats are still making Jake Shaw look pretty good.

Plano Star’s Cory Mageors doesn’t expect Trinity to come out throwing.

Ok Plano, Trinity always has a good fan following……but……PLANO HAS A GREAT FAN FOLLOWING, you’ve shown it all year and are an important reason why the Wildcats are 13-1.

So let’s show the Trojans how “7 time State Champion fans” support their team on the way to their 8th!

7:00 PM, Texas Stadium, get your “maroon on and your paint on” and let’s get LOUD AND ROWDY!
